As is the case with many small private schools, over its thirty-year history, Chesapeake Academy’s facilities had evolved primarily as a patchwork of additions and modifications. With a vibrant and growing student body, those facilities were straining at the seams.
The first task was to develop a master plan for phased replacement and expansion of the existing buildings. The School was able to implement the first phase of the new expansion with this building, which provides a new gymnasium, black box theater, and science classrooms.
Equal in importance to the School’s new spaces is its new entrance, which proclaims its values and projects an image in keeping with its mission.
