The owners of this 1980-built contemporary, which was designed as a series of small brick cubes with rigidly symmetrical interiors, wanted a home that would make them feel as though they were somewhere else – preferably tropical – the moment they opened the front door.
The renovation’s stuccoed and streamlined exterior speaks to the resort ambience contained within. With a fluid schematic design relating to the outdoors, the house includes a gallery that runs around the perimeter of the foyer and creates a palazzo-like effect. The home’s main level is designed primarily for entertaining. On the second level, a self-contained master bedroom suite functions as a home within a home.
The house speaks of a warm, casual climate, but with a distinctive formal elegance. Key Lime Pie Martini, anyone?
