86 State Circle

scroll

Annapolis, Maryland

Set within the historic fabric of Annapolis, 86 State Circle was conceived as a careful restoration of the past paired with a complete transformation within. The project preserved and rehabilitated the existing exterior, maintaining the scale, proportion, and material character of the original townhouse, while restoring the brick masonry, fenestration, and architectural detailing in accordance with historic preservation standards.

Behind this restored façade, the interior was entirely reimagined as a modern boutique hotel. Spaces were reconfigured to support contemporary hospitality, with new structure, systems, and circulation introduced to create a seamless guest experience. Guest suites were designed as refined retreats, where natural light, bespoke millwork, and layered materials create a quiet, elevated atmosphere.

The result is an architecture of contrast and continuity, where the historic exterior remains rooted in Annapolis’ legacy while the interior delivers a distinctly modern expression of comfort, craft, and hospitality.
